Competition Highlights:
After an early successful dual show jumping and eventing career, Andrew specialized more in Eventing from 1980 although kept show jumping throughout his riding career. Some riding highlights include:
- World Championship Gold Medal.
- 5 Top ten finishes at 4 star level.
- Twice represented NZ at World Championships.
- Twice Reserve at Olympic level.
- 8 times in NZ Trans-Tasman Team (winning 6 Times, 5 times as Captain.)
- Individual winner of Trans-Tasman Competition individually twice – only rider to do so.
- Won 6 New Zealand National Titles.
- Won 5 CCI’s & CIC’s at 3 star level in NZ and Australia.
- Won Manawatu Sports Person of the Year.
- Nominated in New Zealand Team of the Year 1990.
Coaching Highlights:
- Equestrian NZ Elite Coach in Dressage/Show Jumping/Eventing.
- Unbeaten NZ Young Rider coach and Chef de Quip from Perth in 1996 to Berrima 2000.
- Coached Brazil at World Games at the Hague to 5th place.
