My 14 year old daughter Zara Power has been having lessons with Andrew the last couple of years and she is reaping the benefits of his fantastic motivational coaching. Andrew has hugely increased her confidence and Zara finds him very uncomplicated and understanding. Andrew is a master at making such a young rider think and Zara continues to be excited for each and every lesson. Both Andrew and Louise have been amazing support for Zara and myself.
When I was 8, I remember falling off every day for nearly a week, so Mum decided to take me to Andrew. I’m still not sure what he did…but Mum said he ‘fixed me!” I’ve continued going to Andrew for lessons ever since even though I no longer fall off that regularly, and I’m now trailing for Pony Club teams! I love going to lessons as I learn so much, but best of all it’s great fun and he makes me feel so safe no matter what I’m riding and what height I’m jumping” .

Over the last 4 years Andrew has supported and encouraged me to improve not only my riding skills but my mental attitude towards my sport. He has guided me from Training to 2 Star eventing level and onto the NZ Young Rider Oceanic Eventing Team. Not only is Andrew an international rider himself, having represented NZ at many levels, but he has the ability to communicate the skills and mental attitude that is necessary to succeed in a very difficult sport.
Andrew has been great supporting me at some of my biggest shows - Puhinui, Kihikihi and Taupo - helping me walk my cross country and showing jumping courses. Having him there really helps to keep my nerves down especially when I go into the show jumping in the lead and I feel the pressure to perform. “Think of the process and not the result” “rhythm and balance is the most important thing to have before the corner”. Just a few wise words from Andrew that I always keep in my mind when striving for that perfect clear round.
He obviously comes with a strong practical background having been there and done that but he is never one to over face a rider, always giving me the confidence to go out there and do my best.
Andrew has played a major role in my success over the last four years, with results such as
· 2014 Puhinui 3 Day CCI* Junior Championship - Winner
· 2015 Young Rider One Day Championship - 3rd
· Victorious win over Australia as part of the NZ Young Rider Oceanic Team at Taupo International 3 Day 2015
Andrew is an amazing coach who I would recommend to anyone of all ages, levels and disciplines.

Andrew has been my coach for many years now. He has installed all the necessary basics which has made jumping huge cross country tracks seem effortless on any horse. I think the best thing about Andrew is how simple he makes it seem, it all makes perfect sense and it works! I highly recommend Andrew to anyone and everyone at all levels, I can say I would not be were I am today with out Andrew’s advice and guidance along the way and my horses definitely wouldn’t be confident, gutsy cross country machines.
